From knowledge to real changes. Inclusion Pro program: Halfway through the journey
09/02/2026
The program “Inclusion Pro: Innovative Practices of Psychological Support for Children with Special Educational Needs” has passed the halfway point of its implementation. Teachers, psychologists, and specialists of inclusive-resource centers in Kyiv Oblast, who participated in the first cohorts, have already completed the training and are now actively applying the knowledge gained in their work with children with special educational needs.
Participants paid particular attention to the topic of psychological trauma in children. Although they often do not talk about their problems or feelings, there are certain signs that help specialists recognize traumatic experiences in a timely manner. The program offers intervention algorithms and practical tools for supporting children in difficult circumstances.
Another important topic was therapeutic work with toys, particularly the Hibuki method. Using a special therapeutic toy helps children to process trauma, creates a sense of safety, and opens the path to emotional recovery.
The program implementation will continue until February 20. As previously mentioned, it consists of four modules: three of which are conducted offline, and one is held online. During the next stage of the program, two additional cohorts, totaling up to 140 participants, will join the training. They will complete the modules and explore new professional approaches in the areas of art therapy practices and neuroplasticity exercises, modern correctional and developmental technologies, and intercultural interaction.
The program is implemented as part of ASB Ukraine's “Rebuilding Roots” project, funded by the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ). All activities are carried out with the support of the Municipal Educational Establishment of the Kyiv Regional Council “Kyiv Regional In-service Teacher Training Institute”.
