Grand opening of the «Ray of Hope» Rehabilitation Center

The project titled «Ray of Hope» which was implemented by ASB Ukraine in cooperation with FRIDA Ukraine, a team of medical volunteers who help Ukrainian people affected by the war, is in the final stage.
Our purpose was to create a «Ray of Hope» rehabilitation center, which can accommodate 180 children. For that, we used the example of the orphanage, located in Smila, Cherkasy region. On the 1st of June, it was officially open. The facility is intended for both children living in the orphanage and children from the local community.
It is important to note that the children with musculoskeletal disorders, who are this institution pupils, will be able to receive timely quality medical care on site.
The following major works were done:
- Window replacement.
- Floor replacement.
- Premises remodeling.
- Heating system installation.
- Electric lift installation.
The following equipment was installed:
- Electric therapy table.
- Bicycle ergometer for arms and legs.
- Walking simulator.
- Continuous passive movement system of finger joints.
- Other equipment.
Significantly, that along with the center construction, a number of trainings staff were conducted. Their purpose was to improve the knowledge concerning the work with patients suffering from mental and physical disorders.
Thereby, this project, created on such basis, will be the first one in region. Its purpose is not only to provide children with regular and high-quality physical rehabilitation, but also to support their emotional state by creating a comfortable and caring environment.
