The Power of Partnership: Modern Equipment for Kyiv Oblast Hospitals

08/10/2025
Representatives of Ukrainian, Austrian, and German branches of ASB carried out a joint monitoring visit to the Municipal Institution of the Kyiv Oblast Council «Specialized Regional Orphanage» and Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital No.2, both located in Bila Tserkva, as well as to the Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital in Boyarka.

These visits were conducted within the project «Modernization of medical equipment for the rehabilitation of healthcare facilities», implemented by ASB Ukraine.

The ASB delegation included:

- Serhii Burlachenko – Head of Program/Area Coordinator, ASB Ukraine.
- Mariia Kravchenko – Health Officer, ASB Ukraine.
- Andreas Balog – Managing Director, Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Österreichs.
- Jill Kaiser – Desk Officer, Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund.

State-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment was installed at the Specialized Regional Orphanage in Bila Tserkva. This modern rehabilitation equipment opens up new opportunities to improve the quality of life for children with special needs, who suffer from musculoskeletal disorders, diseases of central and peripheral nervous system.

Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital No. 2 in Bila Tserkva received assistance in the form of an anesthesia station, a double dome ceiling operating light, mobile operating lights and an endoscopic visualization system as well. This equipment will significantly improve the quality of surgical care, particularly in urgent and serious cases.

Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital in Boyarka received a flow cytometer together with a set of reagents to operate it for a certain period of time, it was also provided. This device enables precise diagnostics of oncological diseases in children and particularly helps to identify the type of tumor cells (e.g., leukemia or lymphoma), forming the basis for selecting effective treatment.

This assistance was provided due to our collective hard work, as well as the memorandum of cooperation that was signed with the Kyiv Oblast Council in June 2025.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Tetiana Semenova Тетяна Семенова, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Oblast Council Київська обласна рада, for her support and understanding.
Kyiv Oblast remains one of the priority areas of our activities.

We are grateful to our donor NACHBAR IN NOT for financial support of the project.
