Project “Hygiene, Nutrition and Winterization as Cash as well as Psychosocial Support to Conflict-Affected People in need along the contact line, Eastern Ukraine” (14 June 2019 – 13 June 2021)

On 14 June 2019, ASB Country Office Ukraine launched a new project titled “Hygiene, Nutrition and Winterization as Cash as well as Psychosocial Support to Conflict-Affected People in need along the contact line, Eastern Ukraine.”

The project’s aim is to provide assistance to conflict-affected populations in the 5-km zone along the ‘contact line’ in Eastern Ukraine (GCA of Luhanska and Donetska oblasts).

In the framework of the project, vulnerable population groups are supported with cash assistance for food, hygiene and winterization. ASB also provides in-kind hygiene kits to persons with special needs, namely diapers and accompanying hygiene items.

The psychosocial component of the project is implemented by ASB’s longstanding partner, Samaritan Union of Ukraine (SSU). SSU provides individual and group psychosocial support (PSS) to the conflict-affected children and adolescents as well as to older people from the conflict area. The PSS services are provided both at three PSS centres and through mobile psychosocial teams.

The project is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
